Who are the People in Your Neighborhood?

Remember that song from Sesame Street?

Oh, who are the people in your neighborhood?
In your neighborhood?
In your neighborhood?
Say, who are the people in your neighborhood?
The people that you meet each day.

Some of you familiar with blogging know that there is a little feature you can add to your blog that allows you to see at least what service provider your readers are using. Sometimes this comes in handy when you get responses from random people and you’re trying to figure out how they ended up reading your blog. I don’t check it very often, but as some have noticed, I have had a lot of anonymous posts lately and it’s driving Suzy crazy not knowing who it is (of course I’m curious, but oh well – as long as “anonymous” isn’t stalking me – it’s all good.) I have two theories on who this MIGHT be -- based off of the location of their server, but not really sure. But like I said, if they’re not stalking me, I don’t care.

Anyway, as I was looking at the tracker today, I found it really interesting to see all the different “viewers” I have. Some are regulars and end up on my blog through other friends’ blogs. Some are just hitting the “next blog” feature, and some are searching Google and probably didn’t find what they were looking for (unless I’m being “Googled” by an old boyfriend, but there are very few of those and none of them were computer literate).

Sometimes I’m curious who the “regular visitors” that I can’t figure out are, yet also thankful that at least someone finds what I’m blogging about entertaining enough to come back more than once (well, that’s at least what I like to tell myself.) ;o)

On a side note (totally unrelated of course): My new flip flops are the WORST! I bought cheap ones for camp because I needed shower shoes (the ones I use to use disintegrated). This morning I was getting ready for work and couldn’t find my black flip flops and I was running late, so I grabbed the browns ones I bought for camp. I have tripped at least 10 times today!!! Never wearing these anywhere but in the yard and in the shower at camp ever again!!!!

It’s almost as if the “anonymous” readers freaked about not being as anonymous as they thought they were. It makes me chuckle.
Perhaps you should encourage your unknown contributors to leave their initials or some kind of unique signature so you and others will be better able to tell one anonymous person from another. Or, I suppose we mysterious persons could simply be brave enough to tell you who we really are. But then if we were truly brave, then one or more of us would have already swept your attic for intruders, so perhaps initials will have to suffice. But then again, who doesn’t like a little mystery from time to time?

Well, that rules out both of my theories. Can't tell if this is getting funnier or freakier! =o)

Coming from one of your Anonymous ones, I would prefer to stay anonymous for reasons of my own. Not to worry, I am not a stalker or anything, just enjoy your blogs. I can stop if it is making you uneasy. In this day and age I would completely understand and I didn't mean to cause any concerns. Tell Suzy sorry for giving her a Scooby Doo mystery.

Hey, if you promise you're not a stalker, then your being "anonymous" doesn't bother me any. Of course, would a stalker really admit to stalking? Hmmm....

Good point on the stalker thing, I guess they wouldn't admit that. But I promise I am not. Hmm...not sure how to prove I am just a nice person with waaaayyy too much time on their hands. Besides with gas prices as high as they are, I can barely afford to drive anywhere, let alone pull a Magnum PI on someone. I just enjoy your sense of humor. Have a good afternoon.

lOK...this is not fair. I was gone for 3 days and I come back to all these comments on your blog. Let me clear the record. I am not super stressed by the fact that you have anonymous people comments. What I find interesting is that these "anonymous people" know so much abbut your life and can ask questions about your life like they live right next door. Maybe they do live next door. Who knows. But being anonymous is fine with me. I have my share of anonymous people that comment so I guess I can't be bothered by the ones that comment on yours and by all means don't stop commenting. It's good reading!

Ha! Ha! This is the most entertainment I've had in a long time. How sad is my life?

Now, now, it can't be any sadder than a person leaving anonymous comments on your blog right? =)
Glad I can help entertain. I'll do my best to make you laugh.
But I have to admit, it is kind of fun!
